Reflection Questions: Daniel Priestley (DOAC Podcast)

1. The “Pause, Reflect, Document” Life Audit

Best done in nature, away from technology, with a pen and paper.

  • “What are some of the dots that have happened in the last 5 years?”
  • “What are some of the bigger picture impacts that I’ve made?”
  • “What are some of the problems that I’ve struggled with?”
  • “What if this was possible? What if that was possible?”
  • “What is it that I now know that I want to take forward and add value to others?“

2. Discovering Your Unique Human Advantage

Questions to uncover your personal intellectual property in an age of AI.

  • “What is it that I can bet on that is irreplaceably human, which only I can do and an AI cannot do?”
  • “What is the thing that only you can say, and no robot or AI could ever say because it hasn’t lived that experience?”
  • “When did I do something special that impacted a certain type of person where I can explain how I did it step by step, how it felt, and it would be of interest to plenty of people?”
  • “Which type of content am I making that is creating the strongest parasocial relationship with the person on the other end?“

3. The Entrepreneurial Problem-Solving Frame

Questions to ask when evaluating a new challenge, business idea, or opportunity.

  • “Is this problem for me?”
  • “Is this a good idea or not? Can we validate it? Can we scale it?”
  • “How would I test my assumptions?”
  • “How would I build something quickly and cheaply?”
  • “How would I then test that?”
  • “How would I then scale that?”
