some people are really stuck in their old ways. They believe there aren’t a lot of pathways they can take. It’s mainly because of how our parents believed we should see the world—just through a handful of pathways—when in reality, there are so many paths you can take in life. You can create your own paths. I strongly believe that. But it’s so hard to convince others. A big part of it is they need to have a strong vision, a strong purpose, because if they don’t, they’ll give up before they can reap the rewards of their efforts. That’s the unfortunate thing.
This world is not set up in a way that helps people truly believe what they’re capable of, believe in it, and pursue it. We’re stuck in fear and doubt because the consequences of things not working out are so incredibly high. As humans, we love certainty, and that is one of our biggest weaknesses, unfortunately.
The problem these days is we don’t have free thinkers, unique thinkers. Everyone’s just following what everyone else is thinking. As a result, a lot of people are stuck in the past, believing that it’s very hard for them to make their own path.
It is easier than ever now, especially with the power of social media, email, and LinkedIn. You’re able to find anyone you want to find, and that is so powerful. People are just realizing its powers right now. I haven’t even started talking about AI.
