i’d like to offer you a different perspective on claude code
one that doesn’t make you feel overwhelmed
i used to look at other people’s claude code setup and genuinely wonder how they got there.
we got people running entire businesses through their agents meanwhile i was completely clueless on where to start
so i did what everyone does. I tried to copy them.
But that got me nowhere
these tools exist for personalization. that’s the whole point. you’re building a system for your specific life. a system built around someone else’s problems is never going to solve yours
So now the question is, how do I create my own AI agent “life-os”?
After lots of trial and error, I realized that the real bottleneck is that most people jump straight to building without having a deep understanding of their problems
We all have problems in our lives. You’ll come to realize that the ones that don’t get resolved are the ones that you just don’t fully understand. You need more “context”
That’s the thing that made me procrastinate for so long.
once you have that clarity, telling the AI what to do and how to do it becomes the easy part.
anyone can create a skill. not everyone can create one that actually saves them time
hope this helps :)
made a full video on this where i share the 5 step framework i used to grow my “life-os”. This was step 3. link in comments
I came up with this simple five-step framework/cycle that anyone can follow no matter where you’re currently at: mindset, explore, reflect and diagnose, build, maintain.
let’s focus on step 3,
Before writing any skill or agent for your environment
Step three is about being mindful of everything you do in your day. What comes naturally for you? What exhausts/drains you? A good heuristic you can have for yourself is: “Would I pay someone $2 to do this for me?” As you go through your day, just look for these moments and write them down somewhere.
But that’s not it. Now here comes the hard part: having a deep understanding of what the real bottleneck is in here.
I realized that the reason I felt so much resistance to making my own skills and having my own custom setup is sometimes because I didn’t have a full deep understanding of what my problem really is.
and this is why i say reflect and diagnose. Through the diagnosis you’ll be able to give the AI clear instructions on what it has to do because, as we all know, AIs are built to be assistants and assistants only thrive when you give them the right information.
If you nailed that, then everything else becomes much easier.
This ties to the global shift of the importance of having a deep understanding.
