- 3 years ago when i was working at IBM, I gave a 45min presentation on how to use obsidian in yr work and personal life. Convinced several of them to start using it.

I dropped absolutely every single thing when I saw your post. Aside from IDE’s, the app that I spend the most time on in my day-to-day is Obsidian. I spent 295hrs in 2025 (proof: https://x.com/rami__maalouf/status/2007319348697018747). Ever since i moved away from notion in 2022, I’ve been growing & evolving my vault. you can find my vault here (3rd iteration): https://notes.ramimaalouf.com
I can’t stress enough how much I love and respect Obsidian’s philosophy. It’s playing out SO WELL in the age of the claude codes. We are moving towards a world where SaaS apps are just a bunch of md files. I’ve been leaning towards that philosophy for a while now with my own life. Obsidian is slowly becoming my “life-os” that contains all the systems that run my life. But most importantly, it continues to be the place that allows me to connect and create ideas everyday, anywhere, and anytime
I’ve been building web, mobile, and desktop apps with react/TS for over 4 years now (way over 8 in dog years). I’ve worked with the latest technologies in my own time and the oldest of them in my professional work (IBM, Purpose.app). I’m extremely adaptable and I’ve been told by several of my mentors that I possess the steepest slope of any young person they know.
If you want some more info about me and my life mission/purpose/ikigai:
The thing that lights me up the most in life, that energizes me the most, is giving people meaningful, thoughtful experiences. That manifests in absolutely everything I do, especially in the products I build at https://orbitlabs.studio and the community that I started and coach people through: https://the-chalant-society.durable.site/
Simplest e.g.: the smile that I give when i walk past a stranger. That’s me trying to give them a meaningful experience in the most subtle way possible, making them feel seen. That is the exact feeling I strive to evoke when someone uses my software: the profound sense that ‘this was custom-built just for me.’
I see Obsidian as a foundation for a deeply meaningful life. It’s a launchpad that enables people to have meaningful realizations. We are giving people the ultimate operating system to build their own personalized Life-OS. empowering them to grow & manage their knowledge and their lives on their own terms. That vision is what makes me so excited to join Obsidian
